In an absolutely amazing turn of events, the United States overcame the need for a 6 goal turn-around to beat Egypt 3-0, while Brazil beat Italy 3-0, thus pushing the Americans onto the next round. Waiting for the United States was the #1 ranked team in the world, Spain, who was also riding a record unbeaten streak coming into the game. The United States pulled off the miracle upset 2-0 over Spain's Red Fury and will face Brazil, 1-0 winners over South Africa, in a rematch this Sunday. This is the first time that the United States has played in the finals of a major FIFA-tournament.
